As we begin, God willing, to move out of the COVID-19 pandemic, Church of the Savior continues to meet for weekly worship as well as special events in the top floor sanctuary in our building. Persons who have been vaccinated against COVID are welcome to remove their masks per CDC recommendations. At the same time, all of us are asked to let concern for the well-being of our neighbors govern our decisions as we continue to seek to protect one another from the consequences of this potentially serious disease. Persons who would prefer to worship remotely are encouraged to join us via the livestream which will run simultaneously here. You may also view archived services at any time on our YouTube channel here.
We look forward to resuming children’s ministries, including nursery and children’s church, this fall. In the meantime childcare for preschoolers and activities for elementary aged children are provided.
We also continue to offer two midweek Bible studies online:
The book study of Mark’s Gospel takes place Wednesdays at 7 p.m. If you’d like to join us live, please contact Pastor Dennett at firstname.lastname@example.org for a link. Or, you may watch archived studies any time at your convenience on our YouTube channel here.
There is also a study of the video Gospel of Matthew Thursday evenings at 6:30. Please contact Deacon Laura Wicker at email@example.com for a link.
Twelve Step groups continue to meet in the Fellowship Hall in the basement of our building Sunday and Thursday evenings. As with the Sunday morning congregation, some safety precautions remain in place. Some groups have also established online meeting platforms. For more information, or if you are in a group that has previously met at Church of the Savior but has not yet resumed meeting, contact your group leader.
If you are new to the Twelve Step movement and looking for a group please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will put you in contact with one of the meeting facilitators.
Church of the Savior continues to serve the Kyrie Cafe lunch at noon on the final Sunday of each month. The next meal will be served Sunday June 27, beginning at noon. For the time being, to protect everyone’s health and safety, we continue to distribute the lunch in the parking lot on the Merchant Street side of the Church of the Savior building.
The meetings of the Village Church at the Economy-Crestview Recreation Center continue to be suspended until further notice, with weekly prayer walking in the neighborhood on Tuesday evenings instead. For more information contact Pastor Jason Wilson at email@example.com or follow the Village Church on Facebook.
