September 2024

Church of the Savior meets for weekly worship as well as special events in the top floor sanctuary in our building. If you would prefer to join us virtually you can do so via the livestream of our weekly service, which can be found here every Sunday at 10 a.m. Archived services (as well as other COTS presentations) are available for viewing at any time on our YouTube channel here.

On Sundays a simple children’s education time with Bible stories is offered during the time Scripture is read and the sermon is preached. Children of kindergarten age and up are welcome to participate. After joining their families for the opening time of worship in music, children and their teachers go to the Multipurpose Room on the main floor. Teachers will return children to their families for the time of Communion, typically about forty-five minutes later.

Preschoolers who are too young for church school are welcome to visit the “children’s corner” at the rear of the sanctuary during Sunday worship. Parents may also wish to allow their infants or toddlers to use the nursery, located on the main floor opposite the parish offices.

On Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. there is an online video Bible study of the Gospel of Luke. Please contact Deacon Laura Wicker at lwicker@verizon.net for more information or for a link.

Twelve Step groups meet in the Fellowship Hall in the basement of the Church of the Savior building Tuesday noon and Sunday and Thursday evenings. For more information please contact your group leader. If you are new to the Twelve Step movement, and would like to be connected to a group, please email us at administrator@cotsambridge.org and we will put you in contact with one of the meeting facilitators.

Kyrie Cafe is taking a break in this season of transition, so there will NOT be lunch on the final Sunday of the month. If you run into folks who you recognize from the lunches, please remind them and let them know they’re welcome to join for worship!

Our new rector, Bill Driscoll, will celebrate his first Sunday with us on September 1.

On September 8, we’ll have our annual church picnic in the Barn at Old Economy Park (5 Forcey Dr, Baden PA). We’ll begin service at 10:30 that day, followed by lunch — please bring a side or dessert to share!

COTS will be hosting the Regional Revive Weekend September 13-14. Contact Pastor Myron for more details.

We’ll celebrate the institution of Bill Driscoll on September 22 during the morning service, followed by a light reception.

Finally, the annual Festival of Churches in Ambridge is scheduled for September 28. Stay tuned for more details!
