Hope and Comfort for Troubled Hearts

Long time COTS member Dan Tomazeski shares these thoughts:

Hope and Comfort for Troubled Hearts
In Psalm 111:1-4, the Psalmist encourages us to praise the Lord. He himself has determined to do this. He finds great joy and pleasure in praising God together with God’s people. (Psalm 84:1-4; Psalm 34:1-10; Psalm 27:4)
There is no doubt that the Psalmist has experienced in his own life just how great God’s goodness and mercy are. God’s mercy is everlasting. (Psalm 103:1-5, 10-18; Psalm 130 all; Psalm 100 all)
Hymn – “Great is Thy Faithfulness”
God’s love is steadfast. (Lamentations 3:18-26; Jeremiah 31:3; Psalm 94:17-19; Psalm 84:9-12; Psalm 18:35; 2 Corinthians 1:1-5; 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)
Men may fail us. We are all frail creatures in ourselves. Often we even disappoint ourselves too. But God cannot fail, and God cannot lie. (Hebrews 6:13-20)
Hymn – “Will Your Anchor Hold?”
(Hebrews 12:1-3; Philippians 1:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; Jude vv. 24-25).
